Twitter for iPhone Updated with OAuth and iOS Multitasking Support

Twitter has released an update to their official Twitter for iPhone client, bringing support for iOS 4 (says “tested”), OAuth and various bug fixes.

Although not mentioned in the release notes, the app now supports fast app switching, meaning that you’ll be able to quickly close it, switch to another app, go back and find Twitter for iPhone exactly how you left it. Another interesting minor change is the possibility to turn the much-criticized keyboard delay off in the Settings.

In case you’re wondering: the app doesn’t refresh when re-opening it through the multitasking drawer, so API calls won’t be wasted. Clever implementation. In the meantime, we’re still waiting for a OAuth.ready build of Tweetie for Mac.
