Alongside announcing a low-cost 9.7” iPad model, a new video app called Clips, and expanded language support for Swift Playgrounds, Apple has also introduced a special edition (PRODUCT)RED version of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, new Apple Watch Bands, improved storage capacities for the iPhone SE, and some new cases for iPhone.
(PRODUCT)RED iPhone
Apple has offered (PRODUCT)RED versions of several different products in the past, but in most cases those products have been smaller offerings, such as accessories for iPhone and iPad. The new (PRODUCT)RED iPhone, available in both the 7 and 7 Plus models, marks the biggest product offering in Apple’s partnership with (RED) to date.
The special edition iPhone 7 includes a red back with a white front, and is available in two storage configurations: 128GB and 256GB. The new model goes on sale this Friday, March 24th, with an entry price of $749.
Apple Watch Bands
The Apple Watch has received a variety of new bands for the spring season. These include new sport, woven nylon, classic buckle, and Hermès options.
In addition to these new offerings, Nike Sport Bands are now available for individual purchase for the first time. Previously, the only way to obtain a Nike Sport Band was to buy the Apple Watch Nike+. Nike Sport Bands are available in three colors at $49 each.
Miscellaneous
iPhone SE is also receiving a minor update. Beginning Friday, March 24th, the storage options will be upgraded to 32GB and 128GB – double the previous numbers – while retaining the same starting price of $399.
Lastly, starting today there are new color options available for the iPhone’s silicone and leather cases. Silicone options include azure, camellia and pebble, and new leather options include taupe, sapphire and berry.
