Last week discussions.apple.com was hit by an alleged malicious attack that forced some users to be redirected to a blank page showing a message from the “hacker” who managed to inject code in the website. Apple quickly took the boards down for mantenaince and, after that, announced that Apple Discussions will soon go under a major change and be renamed “Apple Support Communities”.
It seems like ASC will be a major redesign of the current forum boards. The home page in ASC will allow you to “create your Profile, personalize your Homepage, and customize Your View.”
You’ll also be able to “introduce yourself to other support communities members by completing your profile and biography. Upload your profile picture and avatar, and invite your friends to join in the discussion. Personalize your homepage, select your preferences, add widgets. See the Apple Support Communities information you want to see, when you want to see it.”
My guess is, there will also be an iPhone app to access the Apple Support Communities. It would be really useful. In the meantime, check out all the details here.
