Reuters is reporting that a note from Citibank analyst Chang Kaiwei claims that Apple’s manufacturing partner Foxconn and parent company Hon Hai may raise their prices to all of their customers for devices such as the iPhone.
“Hon Hai, the world’s largest electronic parts maker, will raise prices from October for some clients, including Apple, according to a Citibank analyst, a Taiwan newspaper reported on Wednesday.”
So what’s the target price increase that Foxconn (Hon Hai) wants? Will Apple be able to maintain its existing pricing for its customers or will Apple be forced to issue an increase? Apple will have to make efforts to maintain its current price points to keep users happy, but an increase in Apple’s costs could effect Apple’s financial guidance and investor sentiment.
