Apple Launches the New MobileMe

Earlier this morning Apple released an all-new version of MobileMe, just like many blogs reported yesterday.

The new MobileMe Mail features all the changes we’ve seen in the beta a few weeks ago: a color change, improved security with SSL support, faster performances, widescreen and compact views that remind us of the iPad interface.

The Mail service is the one that features most of the changes, but the new application switcher is absolutely worth mentioning: just like on Mac OS X, you get this translucent panel that contains all the icons of the MobileMe services. To enable the switcher, you have to click on the MobileMe icon in the upper left corner. It’s very useful and good looking.

Other applications went over minor changes, but the overall feeling is that MobileMe is now cleaner and more consistent. Sadly, no free version or iTunes syncing or all the other features we’ve been talking about for months. Check out a few screenshots of the new MobileMe below.
