Most people accessorize their iPhones with cases, bumpers, stickers, etc. to make their device unique and individual. I like a minimal case that adds some protection around the device but without distractions. The i+Case by Jason Valalik and Chungming Ying is a sleek, beautiful aluminum bumper-style case that is machined out of a single block of aluminum. Sound familiar? Apple uses the same process to make their MacBook Pros. After the case is machined, it goes through an anodization process increasing durability and resistance to corrosion. Installation is simple and requires four stainless steel screws and an included screwdriver.
The i+Case Features:
- Slim metal profile showcases more of your iPhone 4S and 4.
- Minimalist, form-fit feature covers corners and protects better than plastic cases.
- Minimal assembly required, tool kit with mini-screw driver, screws and aluminum buttons (Volume, On/Off, Mute) included.
- Access to all ports and functions.
- Weight: 16 grams.

The i+Case is compatible with AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and international iPhone 4S and iPhone 4. It will be available in 3 colors: black, silver and red and will retail for $65. The estimated delivery of the i+Case is December.
The reason Valalik and Ying decided to take this to Kickstarter is simple: the tooling and blocks of aluminum are expensive and they need more money to run a full production for the i+Case and help with packaging. The Kickstarter page currently has 334 backers for a total of $27,000. The goal was $15,000 so Jason and Chung surpassed their goal with 15 days left. If you are interested in pledging, you can give $1, $65 (which will get you a pre-order), $120, $175 and $275.
People really do care about what they wrap around, or bolt on (in this case) their iPhones. Looks and quality are worth the extra money and the i+Case looks incredible, I would like to see wrapped around my iPhone 4S. Head on over the the Kickstarter page to find out more.
