Next Apple TV Revealed?

Engadget has received a very intriguing tip about the next Apple TV. Yes, Apple is working on a new iteration of the Apple TV and if this rumor will turn out to be true, the thing will be amazing.

Basically, it should be a very small device based on the iPhone 4, priced at $99 (!!) and capable of doing full 1080p video. They describe it as “an iPhone without a screen.”Rumor has it Apple has been working on this for a long time now, and it will based on a cloud storage system - that’s why the device should be very small. Engadget also says that the new ATV won’t be announced at the WWDC, which - again - will be focused on the iPhone.

As for the operating system, the next ATV should run a modified version of iPhone OS, pretty much like the iPad. Of course it won’t run scaled iPhone apps, but you can bet it’s going to be way more than a simple television hooked up to the internet.

What do you think? Can a device like this revolutionize the way we use or TVs? Personally, I can’t wait to see what Apple might come up with.
