Doctor Doctor, I’ve Got An iPad Stuck Up My…

Hospitals may soon be dragged into the modern day with the Feather, an iPad supporting medical cart.A company called Modo, in Oregon, have announced that they have developed a medical trolley that is designed to carry an iPad and a Bluetooth keyboard.

The cart is manufactured from aluminium and has a thin, flat work surface with a central pivoting arm which hold the iPad and allows for almost all-round orientation.  There is a pocket at the back for storing a power cable if needed but with the iPad having a 10 hour battery life, the need for power cables has pretty much been removed, allowing the cart to be much more maneuverable.

Goo Sung, the design manager at Modo, has clearly aimed for something Apple-esque with the design of the Feather, stating that:

“If Apple designed the cart, this is what it would look like.”

With usual point-of-care units weighing up to 80 pounds, the 20 pound Feather looks set to streamline the whole patient data process.
