Piper Jaffray’s Gene Munster is a well-known Apple analyst, one of those that usually predict great numbers and results from Apple. This time around, though, when talking to Business Insider’s Henry Lodget he had to say that Android tablets will eventually have more market share than Apple’s iPad, and Android is going to be the most important mobile platform of the next decade.
He says the iPad is going to be a huge success for Apple, but it won’t end up having the majority of the market share. Android-based devices will.
Ultimately, we think that Apple won’t have the majority of the (tablet) market share. It’ll probably be with Android-based tablets.
Also according to Munster, the 45 million sales figure for the iPad next year is a “little bit aggressive”. He thinks Apple’s tablet sales will be around 20-25 million during 2011. Check out the video below.
