HyperDock is a very popular application for OS X currently in its first beta stage that allows users to switch between apps in the Dock through “window previews” - pretty much like Windows 7’s Aero Peek functionality. If you missed our first review of HyperDock, check it out here.
The developers of HyperDock have been releasing lots of updates in the past weeks, but today’s 0.9.10 build is particularly sweet: it adds Spotify and VLC specific media controls, thus starting to turn HyperDock into a full-featured app switcher and controller for OS X. In the previous versions of the app iTunes controlling and rating was supported, now you can pause streaming from Spotify and any kind of content from VLC.
The new build also adds the option to toggle iTunes rating (a feature that not so many users appreciated) and introduces support for half-stars ratings, the ones you can enable via Terminal.app.
HyperDock is still free while in beta and, hey, we recommend this. It’s a great app, and it’s getting better on every release.
