DailyBooth, the popular service that allows you to communicate with your friends by sharing pictures of yourself, launched a completely new version of their official iPhone app. The app reaches version 2.0 and it’s been redesigned from the group up to accomodate new features, an improved UI and Facebook / Twitter sharing.
It’s available now as a free download here.
DailyBooth 2.0 follows the steps of Instagram by placing a huge camera button in the bottom tab bar – something that’s not recommended in Apple’s human interface guidelines but that users unaware of it seem to appreciate a lot. The overall design is clean and polished and provides an easy way to navigate across the various DailyBooth sections such as search, the home page and your messages.
The new DailyBooth app also comes with new features such as the live feed and “ghosting”. The live feed option constantly refreshes the stream as new pictures from your friends come in (think of it as DailyBooth’s own implementation of Twitter’s real time streaming), and it’s something we’d like to see in other iPhone apps instead of the overly-abused “pull to refresh”. Ghosting, on the other hand, is basically a semi-transparent overlay that lets you mimic one of your friend’s photos. It’s pretty neat. Among other changes, messages and user profiles.
DailyBooth for iPhone is free and now contains all the functionalities previously available only on dailybooth.com. Go download it here.
