If there’s something great about jailbreak, that’s the possibility to completely theme and modify the original iPhone user interface. Thanks to that amazing tool called Winterboard, you can download and install custom themes on your phone, which will change everything from icons and statusbar color to the dialpad and settings page. Be sure to check out my roundup about 12 best Winterboard themes if you missed it. Anyway, today I’d like to talk about a nice tweak I’ve just purchased from the Cydia Store: it’s called Iconoclasm, and it lets you arrange your icons on the Springboard in a whole different way.
Once you’ve bought the app from Cydia at $2.99 (maybe a little bit expensive, but that’s it) Iconoclasm will be available as a menu in Settings.app. Iconoclasm enables you to arrange the icons on the Springboard with different and creative layouts: you can just take a look at my screenshots below, but I tell you that the package comes with almost 10 custom built-in layouts. These includes boxed layout, 5x5,5x2 and Triangle. Many other additional layouts are available for download in Cydia.
You should know that unlike many similar tools who were developed last year, Iconoclasm doesn’t create blank icons which give you the sense of having a customized layout. These are real hacked, custom layouts. You can even create per-page layouts as you can see from the screenshots above.
So, what’s my opinion about Iconoclasm. It’s another reason why you should jailbreak your iPhone now. If you’re really serious about iPhone customization and theming, you must have this.
