After November 1, the iPhone 5s will be available in 62 countries; at last month’s media event, Apple announced their intention to launch the 5s in 100 countries by the end of 2013. With today’s announcement, Apple will go from 0 to 62 countries in 52 days since announcement (September 10 to November 1); you can compare this to last year’s iPhone rollout to see differences between the iPhone 5 and 5s/5c launches.
On September 23, Apple announced that iPhone 5s and 5c sales had topped 9 million units over the opening weekend.
Update: Here’s a chart showing all iPhone rollouts courtesy of Graham Spencer (click for full size).
As you can see, the iPhone 5s and 5c have the biggest launch day with 11 countries (the iPhone 5 had 9) that, this year, included China for the first time. The new iPhones ramp up to add more countries, having one of the slowest rollouts until 40 days after the announcement. 52 days after announcement, the iPhone 5s and 5c have the fastest international rollout to date with availability in 62 countries.
