Seems like I’m saying this more often recently: something must be wrong with people. So wrong that we’ve come to the point we’ve spotted a guy selling iPhone OS 4.0 beta “invitations” on eBay. Read on.
The guy is basically selling spots for beta testers who have to send him their UDID numbers. UDID is the unique identifier number associated with every iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. It’s the method developers usually follow to send out betas for their new applications. The eBay guy is doing this by having a registered developer account on developer.apple.com. Take a look here, it’s the Italian eBay.
If you’re not familiar with italian, he basically writes all the specs of iPhone OS 4.0 and explicitly says that after buying the “item” you’ll need to mail him your UDID. Just wrong. Also, he even managed to talk about the possible bugs of the Beta 1. Nice.
Seriously, I’m speechless. eBay and Apple should do something about this.
