“iTunes Live” - Now Trademarked

First it was iPhone icons. The we had the “made for” iPod, iPhone, and iPad insignias. Now, Apple has filed a trademark for “iTunes Live.” If you’ve been a fan of the “iTunes Sessions” and “Live from SoHo,” expect (or not necessarily) to see more concerts at big Apple retail store locations.

iTunes Live

iTunes Live

Techcrunch reports that Apple filed the “iTunes Live” trademark under two classes:

- Online retail store services in the field of entertainment featuring prerecorded musical, audio and audiovisual content

- Entertainment services, namely, arranging and conducting of concerts and live musical performances

The second one is what really peaks my interest, because if you remember, Apple has their eyes on perhaps dabbling in the concert ticket business. Will iTunes Live integrate with Verizon Wireless Amphitheaters and other venues? The possibility is certainly open, and I can’t wait to see if Apple extends their trademark into unfamiliar territory.
