Bloomberg Businessweek is reporting that Steve Jobs is in fact, “Fully operational” one year after his liver transplant. It only took Businessweek to make me realize just how lively Jobs has been the past few months, from the release of the iPad, to the campaign against Flash. Also noted is his recent endorsement of a Californian law that promotes organ donations, as well detailing the specifics of Jobs’ previous condition and surgery. While most it reiterates what we already knew, this just goes to show that Apple investors and customers should rest easy - Steve’s not going anywhere for a long time.
Concerning Steve’s health, Businessweek reports:
“Except for the fact that he’s lost a lot of weight, he’s the Steve Jobs of old,” said Tim Bajarin, who has followed Apple for more than two decades as founder of technology consulting firm Creative Strategies in Campbell, California. “At the visionary level, technology and design level, he seems to be working at the same level as he was before he was sick. If I was an investor, I’d be thrilled.”
So while Steve Jobs is still recovering from some health issues (losing a ton of weight), I can’t imagine that’s completely related to his liver alone. After all, dealing with the stress of carrier negotiations, FCC investigations, Flash damnation, and lost iPhones tend to make a man thin. However, his focus and drive for Apple continues to push new and innovative products in the marketplace, and to that, we think he’s doing just fine.
