Is This Felt & Leather iPad Case Worth it?

Appearing on Gizmodo a couple days ago, this Felt & Leather iPad Case – The Tilt from Hand Graft – has been making rounds on the Internet as a rather unique combination of case and stand. Though I find it to be functionally flawed.

Visually it’s okay. Who doesn’t want felt and leather caressing the bosom of their iPad? It may look expensive, but there’s a quality on the inside that make it completely unattractive to me. As reader frigg from Gizmodo points out,

“I like it except for those diagonal straps that hold it onto the screen. They look like suspenders. Suspenders remind me of Larry King. I don’t want to be reminded of Larry King while using my iPad.”

The product photos are quite silly. Clearly there was an emphasis on elegance and luxury, yet the straps totally could cover the volume button. The idea is okay; remove those chintzy elastic straps, and we might be talking money here. But in the meantime, I’m think I’m going to pass it up at 75 euros (92 dollars) – I’m still happy with my thirty dollar Macally Bookstand.
