Back in July there was a rumor floating around about Apple willing to launch a free engraving service for the iPad, but forced to delay it due to problems with demand and supply chain. Last night the free engraving option went live in the online Apple Store.
You can add up to two lines of text (“make sure it’s spelled correctly”) to the rear of the iPad, which will cause a shipment delay of 1 to 3 days. Still, it’s a great way to customize your iPad and a great gift for the holiday season. For $5 more, you can also wrap the device in a gift box - the option is also supported in the updated Apple Store app.
