So you think we’re done reviewing apps to read news on the iPad. No, and we’ve got even more coming. Actually, I think news apps on the tablet are the new “Twitter clients for iPhone”. They’re everywhere. They’re good. Developers can’t stop releasing them.
Today we’re taking a look at a new app for iPad called News Kiosk which - you guess - allows you to read your favorite blogs’ news in an all-new fashion.
As usual, we’ve also got some codes to give away.
The app is oh-so-simple, perhaps it’s one of the easiest to use we’ve reviewed so far. You have this newsstand; you manage sources; you tap around to read news. That’s it. The UI looks good, but typography could use a little extra work. You can search and subscribe to blogs in-app, but sadly there’s no Google Reader integration. I guess it’s coming in the future together with Facebook, Twitter and Instapaper support.
As it stands now, News Kiosk is an interesting first attempt to build in an app that allows average users to sit down and enjoy news. It’s available at $4.99 in the App Store, but you can get the chance to win one of our 10 promo codes. Just leave a comment below and tell us what apps are you using to read news on the iPad.
Winners will be announced on Saturday, July 17th. Good luck!
