One of the most prolific categories in the iPhone App Store is that of weather apps. We reviewed a bunch before, but I still think that one of the best is Outside by Robocat Apps. It’s simple, well designed and - most of all - useful when it comes to quickly check the weather and see what it’s like “outside”.
I expected the same to happen on the iPad as well, and from what we can see in the App Store we’re slowly getting there. People love weather apps, and I can safely say people love good weather apps. We had the chance to take a look at Weather Station Pro from Toopia and we even got 10 copies to give away to our lucky readers.
This app basically turns your iPad into a weather station that lets you check weather conditions and forecasts in both your location and other locations worldwide. You can add as many cities as you like by tapping on the top left button and just search for your location. Cities will be listed in a right “sidebar” and you can switch between them at any time.
Information is displayed on the right: there’s the current weather condition (both in Celsius and Fahreneit, just tap to switch), wind force and direction (measured in km/h, kn and mph), local time and date, 5-day forecast and sunrise & sunset times. It’s all the info you need, packed in a cool and polished “digital clock-like” interface that makes it easy and pleasant to check this app and have it running on your iPad.
Weather Station Pro is available at $1.99 in the App Store, and we’ve got 10 copies to give away if you want to wait before purchasing it. To enter the contest, just leave a comment below. We’ll pick up the winners on April 23rd. Good luck!
