Ryan Petrich (developer of many Cydia apps like ProSwitcher, Inspell and Action Menu) has released a new utility called Display Recorder which allows you to capture high quality video of your iPhone.
Available at $4.99 in the Cydia Store, Display Recorder lets record your iPhone display activity and save videos as .avi files you can publish to Youtube within the app or browse from your desktop browser using the built in web server. The app is very complete and full of options: you can setup custom activation gestures, enable OpenGL capture, choose video quality and orientation, enable taps and adjust the framerate. You can setup all these preferences from the Display Recorder tab in Settings.app.
I found the app lightweight and stable, videos are high quality indeed. Also, the web server feature allows you to launch a live view of your iPhone - check out the video I’ve recorded from my Mac below. So, live view and display recording? This app is a must have, and I’m going to use it from now on for my reviews.
Great job, Ryan.
P.S. Yes, it’s way faster than ScreenSplitr and Demogod.
