Google Rolling Out App Store Search In Google Mobile

We woke up to an interesting new feature in Google Mobile this morning. We all know that finding apps in the App Store can be a little cumbersome, right? With 300,000 apps available, it may be a little complicated to find your way to the exact app you’re looking for.

So I was looking for an app link, and I know that iTunes links are usually well ranked on Google. So I fired up Google on my iPhone and I noticed this in the homepage:

There’s an “iPhone apps” tab in the top bar. The same feature is available from the menu in the More tab. If you select it, type something and hit return, however, the thing doesn’t work. It doesn’t return any result. Also, the feature doesn’t seem to be available on Italian’s Google.

So my guess is, Google is looking for a better App Store integration for iPhone users on its mobile webapp (there’s no “iPad apps” option on the tablet) which, hopefully, should somehow help users discover software coming from the App Store. I hear they rolled out a similar feature for Android users as well.
