I remember a few weeks ago someone said the iPhone’s accessibility features weren’t so great. Steve also replied to an email saying that Apple provides the best accessibility experience on the planet - and judging from the video below I think he’s right.
Victor Tsaran, a musician and Computer Science graduate, shot a video showing an iPhone 4 controlled with a Braillant-32 bluetooth Braille Display. Braille is the alphabet used by blind people to read printed text, and just like Victor points out - it looks like a bunch of dots. The refreshable Braille display allows blind people to understand graphical interface elements by constantly changing the disposition of dots - it’s a very advanced technology, and so is Apple’s implementation in iOS.
