I’ve never been to England, but once I’ll go there I’ll make sure to visit the Apple Store in Regent Street. It’s the highest traffic Apple Store in the world, one of the company’s most successful ones and a “big bet that worked”.
Apple senior vice-president of retail Ron Johnson told Retail Week:
“Regent Street taught me the most. It was a big bet to put in a big store like that, but it worked. Today, Regent Street is our highest traffic store in the world.
10 years ago, we decided that, as a company that wanted to win in innovation, we wanted customers to experience the product at first hand.
Our primary objective is to create a place that people will love. In the new Covent Garden, London, UK store, we’ve not only created a store, we’ve created a place for people to be.”
Apple Stores are an experience - it’s not just about buying products, really. It’s about buying something that will make your life, your job easier and better - and employees know how to make you feel comfortable with it.
