CrunchGear is reporting that Apple’s premium rechargeable batteries, which are Sanyo Eneloops wrapped in an Apple shell, are no better than their competitors - possibly making them too expensive.
Crave did some unscientific testing on a couple batteries. Apple branded batteries were able to power a flashlight slightly longer than Duracells, but cost three times more. Energizers, for your bottom dollar, were better than both. If all you care about is price, go buy one of those multi-multi packs from a big box retailer but if you want sexy Apple batteries supporting your Apple devices, get the Apple branded ones.
