Apple Offering Beta of the New MobileMe Mail

Apple has just announced a new version of its MobileMe webmail service, which is entering the beta status today. You can find all the details here and request an invitation through your MobileMe account.

The new version seems to be highly iPad inspired, with the possibility to change from widescreen to compact view, a middle panel to scroll through messages and a button to archive mails with just one click. Rules will also come to MobileMe, and later be available on the iPhone and iPad too. Apple also promises improved performances and increased security with SSL.

“MobileMe Mail beta works best with Safari 4, Firefox 3.6, and Internet Explorer 8.”

Sorry Google Chrome users. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we’ll get the chance to try this new beta of MobileMe mail.
