Kickstarter is the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world. They have helped projects like the TikTok+LunaTik watch kit for iPod Nano and the Glif tripod mount / stand for iPhone. Today, we thought we would show you a project that’s aimed at all of our hearts, the iPad.
Adonit has started a project via Kickstarter for their product WRITER, an iPad case + keyboard. Adonit is trying to raise $10,000 to get this project funded by February 3 and currently has over $7,000 (US).
The WRITER looks very nice, and a bit different than other cases such as ZAGGmate and ClamCase. It’s a buit more descreet and compact. The keyboard is has an aluminum body with scissor action keys that respond with that familiar click. It also moves on a magnetic strip allowing for unlimited screen angles. The WRITER case also has a built-in LED battery indicator that lets you know that your powered up or that your battery is running down. The keyboard also has rubber pads so that there is no contact between the keyboard and your iPad’s screen when folded up. It’s environmentally friendly too, constructed of recyclable Polycarbonate, ABS, Aluminum, Biodegradable Fabrics and Polyurethanes.
Adonit is also going to be at MacWorld so people can give it some real-world testing and demo the unit out. This looks like a really nice concept for an iPad case, let’s hope the WRITER project gets the funding it needs.
