In the process of completely overhauling the current MobileMe look & feel, last night Apple launched a new beta version of Calendar, which now looks very similar to the iPad counterpart.
First, to sign up for the new beta open me.com/calendar and request an invitation. I expect Apple to enable the first accounts later this week, just like they did with Mail Beta some weeks ago.
The new app, anyway, introduces the same agenda-like look we know and love on the iPad, with redesigned daily, weekly and monthly views and a scrubber at the bottom. New features include the possibility to share a calendar with other MobileMe members, publish one for a group or team and manage event invitations with RSVPs.
As for requirements:
“The MobileMe Calendar beta uses the CalDAV standard so you can view and edit your calendars using the built-in calendar applications on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac. Please note that support for PCs with Microsoft Outlook is coming soon.
To use the MobileMe Calendar beta, you need to be running iOS 4 on iPhone or iPod touch, iOS 3.2 on iPad, Mac OS X Snow Leopard version 10.6.4. “
It’s looking great, by the way. And we can’t wait to see what the new iDisk will look like.
