New PwnageTool Confirmed To Jailbreak iPad and Apple TV [Screenshot]

We thought it would be released on Sunday, but it didn’t happen. The latest version of PwnageTool, long rumored to be able to jailbreak a variety of iOS devices including the iPad and the new Apple TV, is still nowhere to be downloaded, but screenshots are starting to pop up.

Tweeted by @Musclenerd earlier today, the following images confirms that, indeed, the new version of PwnageTool will support jailbreak on iPad and Apple TV. What interests me the most, though, is: will it really be able to create a custom 4.2 firmware?

iOS 4.2 is still in beta for developers, it’ll go public in November. Perhaps PwnageTool will be delayed for when 4.2 comes out? Or maybe they really can create a custom iOS 4.2 beta firmware? Or, again, maybe they’re going to release it soon but without 4.2 support. I don’t know, but good times are ahead for iPad jailbreakers.
