We’re still waiting for Tweetie 2.0 for Mac to be announced (though we’ve heard something new is going on this week) yet a lot of developers haven’t given up on developing and refining their own unofficial Twitter clients. And since Apple released Safari 5 with the possibility to install extensions on it, it was just a matter of time until someone developed a “full-featured” Twitter client for it.
Meet Ostrich.
Ostrich looks beautiful and it’s simple: you install it, authorize via Twitter, hit a button in the toolbar and see tweets sliding down on your screen. It looks nice, and you can reply and retweet. You can’t fave, DM, or search - there’s only one + button to post a new tweet. It’s surprisingly simple and effective.
I like it, but I wish the basic functions will be implemented in future versions: you know, stuff like refresh intervals, mark as favorite and a refresh button.
Anyway, give it a try.
