Publishers Wary of Making iPad Content, However Prospect Looks Good

Is HTML 5 that hard to learn? While I understand companies don’t want to put time and effort into diverging from Flash, or simply making additional HTML content, many European publishers are wary of diving into Apple’s iPad pool of awesome. Although they have been keeping tabs on the boys down under, mainly Australia’s The Australian newspaper. Marketing a digital copy of their paper package for the iPad platform, they too are struggling to make the immediate switch from Flash to HTML - but they promise good things. If these guys continue doing well, they’ll set the example for publishers all around the world. After all, some companies may not be that good right now.

ChangeWave Research conducted a survey which suggests 16% of current share in the e-Reader market is through the iPad alone. If Apple continues to sell, and the price is right, publishers just might be able to make it in the digital world.
