We’ve implemented some cool new stuff today in order to keep MacStories more accessible from the iPad / iPhone and increase the interaction with Twitter.
First of all, you can now save MacStories as a home screen bookmark and get an awesome icon designed by @aylys directly on your iPad or iPhone. We’ve included a screenshot below of the icon sitting in my dock. This should make it easier for you to quickly going back to MacStories every day instead of leaving a page open in Mobile Safari. Also, if you have an iPad and want to read MacStories from your couch, both landscape and portrait modes work great.
The second change is the implementation of Twitter’s Anywhere platform into the website: we’ve put a Twitter button in the sidebar, a tweet box in the sidebar and implemented hovercards for every twitter user we mention in our posts. Like this: @aylys. Hovercards provide an easy way to get more info about a user and start following him / her directly from MacStories.
The tweet box is very simple: just write something into the box (reactions to the post? say hi? retweet? you choose), hit Tweet and your tweet will be sent. Is that simple.
We hope you like the new changes. Now, we have a redesign to finish.
