Stream Media Back to Your Mac with Banana TV

In the past we have covered some great Mac/Airplay apps from Erica Sadun, one of our favorite fangirls over at TUAW. We’ve shown you AirFlick, which lets you drop files and URLs to play the content on your Apple TV. We’ve also covered AirPlayer, which we think is incredible, that allows you to play AirPlay content on your Mac. She is previewing a new app that may be coming to the Mac very soon: Banana TV.

Banana TV turns Airplay’s path around, sending media from your iDevice (iOS 4.2 or higher) directly to your Mac. Why would you want to do this? Isn’t all your media already on your Mac? Well, probably but it’s an excellent way to show your home movies, music videos or vacation slideshows to friends and family on a much larger screen that your 13” MacBook Pro. Banana TV also opens up streaming from iDevices your buddies or family may have with them, all without an Apple TV.

Erica hasn’t provided when the software will be available or how much it will cost but we know it will be exciting coming from her.
