Yes Houston, an iPod Nano Phone was Patented

Remember the year 2006? Me neither. But Apple apparently begun plans to turn their iPod Nano into an eventual mini-iPhone. I’m not terribly surprised, considering that Apple has bestowed the Nano with a wonderful little VGA camera before the iPod touch. Perhaps a phone may be in lieu as 2010 plays out, but didn’t the rotary dial die some years ago?

So a Nano-Phone; it’s small; it fits in your pockets; kids love it; at least that’s the hope. But Apple’s latest patent showcases how one may stuff all that cellular voodoo into the sleek shell of an iPod Nano - specifically for GSM (and related antennal technologies). Patently Apple reports that along with the Nano’s nude details, we’ve also got patents on the MacBook Display Housing, Payment over Cellular Signals (I think), and Speed Effects via a Digital Presentation ala Final Cut Pro. But those aren’t really a big deal. After all, a Nano-Phone might be pretty huge. Well, small anyway.
