Shorten URLs with Shrinker

I recently wrote an article about how you can create a Lessn, Bit.ly, Is.gd, Tinyurl desktop shortener with Applescript, but if you don’t use lessn from Shaun Inman (which is the most important reason to use that script) or you just don’t want to mess with Applescript language, Shrinker is for you.

Shrinker is a little application which enables you to shorten URLs directly from your desktop. It supports the following services:

bit.ly

is.gd

Tinyurl

tr.im

The app is very lightweight and it’s smart too: it detects if you have a valid url pasted in your clipboard, otherwise it will take the link from the page you’re currently in. And it works great. To use the bit.ly service you’ll have to fill the Preferences with your username and API key.

But most of all, Shrinker it’s free. Go download.
